Grilled Sirloin Steak with Horseradish Sauce
Horseradish Sauce is a common condiment for Steamship Round Roast Beef in buffet lines. It also goes well with beef steaks. This sauce is quickly made from ingredients that probably already exist in your refrigerator and pantry.
2 1-inch thick sirloin steaks
Olive oil for brushing
Salt and coarse ground pepper to taste
Prepare the Horseradish Sauce (recipe follows). Sirloin is sometimes a little tough, so the steaks here were first Jaccarded to tenderize them.
Prepare the grill for hot direct cooking. Brush the meat with oil and season with salt and pepper. Grill them(lid closed) directly over the fire for 3 1/2 minutes per side for medium rare and serve with the Horseradish sauce.
Horseradish Sauce
1/2 cup sour cream
4 teaspoons prepared horseradish
2 teaspoons red wine vinegar
Combine all ingredients and thoroughly blend. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour for the flavors to blend.
